Looking up - Skywatch Friday

This tower at the Steam Museum dominates the skyline in my part of West London and is a great landmark. When we see it, we know we're almost home.

Kew Bridge Steam Museum forms part of the vista from our bedroom window and from our front door.

It has featured on this blog a few times and can be seen from all around my neighbourhood and will in all likelihood feature in pretty much any photo as seen in this selection.

The Tower as seen from Waterman's Park

The Tower (and our flat) as seen from Kew Bridge.

For more great sky shots, be sure to check out Skywatch Friday.

Wow, it really does dominate the skyline! Lovely shots! And hope you're more and more settled back in London.

I love landmarks like that ... I call them/think of them as my personal touchstones. Sadly every time I head into lower Manhattan for jury duty (thankfully only every 2-4 yrs) I come out of the Franklin St subway and still look up for the World Trade Center which I used as an indicator of south/downtown so I knew which direction to walk to get to Foley Sq.

What a fantastic landmark. I am glad to see you are able to visit your kittens. I would be heartbroken to be apart from my furry family.

Hey, I was watching The Beatles 'Hard Days Night' on TVO last night and this very location featured in the movie. It was at the part where Grandfather had a word with Ringo in the Tea Room to go out and experience the world... he ended up talkin to a young lad (not before a tyre bounced over him)... I noticed the tower from the museum right away... no tower blocks or condos though - what was the movie set in? 1964?

Hey Ian - No way? How cool is that. I'll have to look out for that next time I see the film.
